Motorsport
Eric Jensen is the President of Jensen MotorSport, Inc. Based in Toronto, Canada; Eric Jensen started his racing career in 1992. In the early years, Jensen was primarily interested in driving, but also developed a keen interest to create value for corporations seeking to leverage the commercial assets of professional car racing. Eric Jensen is part a family rich in auto racing heritage. His father Bruce Jensen was a successful Formula Atlantic driver in the 1970's. The elder Jensen had numerous top results, including a pole position and a best finish of 2nd place in the inaugural Edmonton Grand Prix. Of note, the elder Jensen was competing in those days against an all-star cast of drivers, including the likes of Gilles Villeneuve, Keke Rosberg, Bobby Rahal, Danny Sullivan, and many more. Jensen MotorSport was incorporated in Canada in 1999. Eric Jensen was the primary team driver, competing in the Indy Lights and Toyota Atlantic championships for many years. Meanwhile, Jensen's team was activating numerous corporate programs for partners such as Molson, Miller Brewing, Colgate-Palmolive, Allied Van Lines, Columbia-TriStar, Sony PlayStation, Honeywell, and many more. Starwood Hotels - owners of hotel brands Westin, Sheraton, "W", St. Regis - began it's involvement with Jensen in 1999. This long-term partnership would lead to the introduction of Starwood Team Jensen, with Jensen piloting the Westin & Sheraton cars in the Toyota Atlantic championship from 2000-2003. Eric has grown Jensen MotorSport consistently through the years. The team now regularly employs a large staff of skilled engineers and technicians, operating race cars for drivers other than Jensen himself. In 2007, team principal Jensen will focus his efforts in driver development and corporate sponsor activation. |
