Next Up: Portland & Montreal

May 28, 2007

Jensen MotorSport will again be a split squad the weekend of June 8th – 10th.  The ChampCar Atlantic team returns to action in Portland Oregon for race #4 of the 2007 championship with drivers Frankie Muniz and Tom Sutherland. Meanwhile, rookie Mike Vincec will have his first chance at the Formula BMW USA championship at the Montreal Grand Prix.

Tom Sutherland (#2 ClickAway Team Jensen) and Frankie Muniz (#13 Chandler Team Jensen) are both looking forward to returning to race action after a long break from the Houston Grand Prix in late April.  Both drivers were able to stay sharp with a two day test in their Swift 016 race cars, but there is nothing like race action and that’s exactly what they will get at Portland. There are two races on the Portland event schedule, one on each of Saturday and Sunday. So with double points and prize money, the team has been hard at work in this short break to assure we win our share.

Meanwhile, Team Jensen is excited to have the young Mike Vincec experience his first racing action with the team. Mike will drive our #2 car in the Formula BMW USA races at the Montreal Grand Prix, which is the feature support event for Formula One.  Mike (16) is already established as one of the top karters in North America.  He consistently is winning in major kart races across North America, and finishes consistently in the top 5 in Stars of Tomorrow ICC features.  So while Mike is a rookie in the Formula BMW series, with his experience in karts and the quality of the race car he’s about to drive, the team is optimistic that we can see Mike reach a top 5 finish in his first race weekend.
