Eric Jensen on Toronto Star Podcast

February 19, 2007

Racing fans can hear Eric Jensen’s thoughts for the upcoming 2007 season on his podcast interview that is available now on The Toronto Star’s website.

The President of Jensen MotorSport sat down earlier this month with The Star’s racing columnist, Norris McDonald, and karting champion Michael Vincec to discuss prospects for this year’s Champ Car Atlantic Series.  With two test weekends completed this season, and a third planned for March at the Laguna Seca circuit in Monterey California, Eric provided an overview of his plans for the 2007 season, and also a “state of the union” in his view of the Champ Car racing organization.

“Podcasts are such an exciting new medium,” said Eric. “They’re making information more accessible by adapting programming to the listener’s schedule and that presents a great opportunity for Jensen MotorSport and others in the racing community.”

In addition to talk about the 2007 season, Eric also reflects on the importance of what goes on behind the scenes at a professional racecar team.  This includes the critical role corporate sponsors play in keeping teams competitive.  In recent months Jensen MotorSport has brought two new key sponsors on board: Vancouver, B.C.-based Chandler Developments Inc. and ClickAway Computers and Networking, a computer repair, service, sales and networking company from San Jose, California.

“There’s so much more to the racing than what’s seen on the track,” states Eric. “Getting to speak with Norris gave me and Michael the platform to provide race fans with some insight into what it’s really all about.  I think the podcast is great exposure for us and I see it playing an important role in the way we promote our business in the future.”
