Season Finale at Road America

The 2006 Champ Car Atlantic Championship had its final race of the season at Road America this past weekend. 
After a strong first practice session in the rain Tim Bridgman and the #2 Epson Team Jensen car had posted the third fastest time.  Late in the session however an incident involving the #2 and another car resulted in a 22 minute penalty for the first qualifying session.  Having only half the 1st qualifying session to work with a mediocre time was posted. 
The 2nd qualifying session was also shortened after Tim crashed early on in the session.  With the times steadily falling throughout the session Tim’s fastest time held up for 20th position to start the race.
Tim moved up to 15th spot shortly after the start of the race and made his way up to 12th by lap 6 with the help of some early retirements from some of the top runners.  On lap 7 however Bridgman was hit from behind and was forced to retire from the race due to contact.
The Jensen MotorSport team will now focus on the 2007 season with an extensive test program for Frankie Muniz along with other drivers.
