The Montreal Grand Prix was a rain soaked event with the Sunday race being postponed to early Monday morning. The rain was still coming down when the green flag finally waved.
Tim Bridgman, driver of the #2 Epson Team Jensen entry was hoping for a wet race since he has vast experience racing in the rain in England. Tim got his wish early on, passing several people from his starting position of 22nd in the opening laps of the race. As the race wore on however a dry line developed and Bridgman settled into a 17th place finish. The team will be looking to put Montreal behind them and finish the season on a strong note in Road America.
Mosport marked the final two rounds of the Formula BMW USA Championship. This was Frankie Muniz’s first visit to the daunting Canadian track. Muniz also got a taste of the rain. Never having raced in wet weather before, Muniz managed to gain valuable experience and confidence in the rain finishing 17th and 19th in the two races.
Frankie Muniz will now begin testing for the 2007 ChampCar Atlantic Championship where he hopes to further develop his professional racing carreer. |
