Following an impressive first outing the ChampCar Atlantic race at the Houston Grand Prix in May, Jensen MotorSport is pleased to announce that Steve Ott will be returning to the cockpit of the teams #22 MSR HOUSTON TEAM JENSEN entry.
Steve Ott (24) hails from Thornton Colorado. Steve Ott has an extensive history of driving success, including his most recent rookie outing in the ChampCar Atlantic series where he finished an impressive 7th place at the Houston Grand Prix after running as high as 6th place.
Ott will rejoin the ChampCar Atlantic grid at the Portland Grand Prix on the weekend of June 16th-18th. Ott is currently in 16th position in ChampCar Atlantic series points, out of 33 competitors, while having only entered one of the first 3 races of the 2006 season.
MSR Houston manager Al Mitchell states, “Steve did such a terrific job at the Houston Grand Prix. Plus the business opportunities created for our circuit and it’s partners by becoming involved in the ChampCar community are really driving our expansion of this program for the rest of 2006”.
The MSR Houston circuit has quickly become a major part of the North American professional racing community. The circuit hosted an official series test for the ChampCar Atlantic championship before the Houston Grand Prix. In addition, numerous ALMS, Grand-Am, ChampCar World Series, and ChampCar Atlantic teams have visited the circuit, located in Angleton Texas, for private track testing.
MSR Houston is a "Driver's" track, where the racer and the motor sports enthusiast alike can come to experience the excitement of driving on a challenging but extremely safe road course. They can not only test the limits of their machinery and skills, but learn to control their vehicles and expand both of these limits. They will also experience the camaraderie of other individuals that share the common love of motor sports.
The Facility is a 2.38 mile road course with 17 turns that is re-configurable to suit different events or needs. Plans include an clubhouse for business, relaxation and course observation. There are storage facilities for equipment and member vehicles. MSR is situated on 381 acres. This expansive area allows for growth and large buffer zones from the neighboring communities. The track has been designed with safety features to protect drivers as well as employees and onlookers. It is our intention that the facility be a comfortable and entertaining place for all members of a group or family to spend time.
The Product is the "Driving Experience" or "Track Time". The facility is being marketed with the methodology consistent with a typical "country club". "Members" pay an initiation fee, monthly dues, and guest fees. Clubs and corporations can rent the facility on a daily basis for various events. Sanctioning bodies can use the facility to promote their events and other groups may use the facility for corporate events, promotional activities and fundraisers. There will also be other services such as schools and drivers education programs, driving accessories, tires, fuels, maintenance, and storage.
