Expanding on an already fruitful relationship, the MSR Houston race circuit will join Jensen MotorSport as primary sponsor of the #22 entry in the ChampCar Atlantic race at the Houston Grand Prix, the weekend of May 11th-13th, 2006. MSR Houston will be featured on the #22 entry, and on the side pods of the ChampCar Atlantic to be driven by rookie Steve Ott.
Steve Ott (24) hails from Thornton Colorado. Steve Ott has an extensive history of driving success in the SCCA, including multiple championships in the Rocky Mountain DSR division, plus several front row starting positions at the SCCA Run-Offs.
The MSR Houston circuit has quickly become a major part of the ChampCar community. The circuit will host an official series test for the ChampCar Atlantic championship on May 7th & 8th. In recent months several ChampCar World Series and ChampCar Atlantic teams have also visited the circuit, located in Angleton Texas, for pre-season testing.
MSR Houston is a "Driver's" track, where the racer and the motor sports enthusiast alike can come to experience the excitement of driving on a challenging but extremely safe road course. They can not only test the limits of their machinery and skills, but learn to control their vehicles and expand both of these limits. They will also experience the camaraderie of other individuals that share the common love of motor sports.
The Facility is a 2.38 mile road course with 17 turns that is re-configurable to suit different events or needs. Plans include a clubhouse for business, relaxation and course observation. There are storage facilities for equipment and member vehicles. MSR is situated on 381 acres. This expansive area allows for growth and large buffer zones from the neighboring communities. The track has been designed with safety features to protect drivers as well as employees and onlookers. It is our intention that the facility be a comfortable and entertaining place for all members of a group or family to spend time.
The Product is the "Driving Experience" or "Track Time". The facility is being marketed with the methodology consistent with a typical "country club". "Members" pay an initiation fee, monthly dues, and guest fees. Clubs and corporations can rent the facility on a daily basis for various events. Sanctioning bodies can use the facility to promote their events and other groups may use the facility for corporate events, promotional activities and fundraisers. There will also be other services such schools and drivers education programs, driving accessories, tires, fuels, maintenance, and storage.
