Long Beach, USA - 10 April 2006: Tim Bridgman made his Atantic debut in the first round of the 2006 Champ Car Atlantic Championship on Sunday in the #2 Epson Team Jensen Atlantic Car.
Twenty eight cars took the green flag to kick off the 2006 Champ Car Atlantic championship on the streets of Long Beach. Tim qualified 10th in the #2 car in Saturday’s qualifying session giving him a good shot to score some points in his first race as an Atlantic driver. Tim worked his way up to 7th place through the first 20 laps of the race and was looking to contend for a top 5 finish.

Unfortunately Tim contacted the tire barrier on lap 21 after passing Graham Rahal for 6th place going into turn 1, ending what looked like a promising day for the #2 Epson Team Jensen car. Despite the disappointing finish Tim showed he has the pace to be a serious contender for the 2006 Champ Car Atlantic Championship and is looking forward to round 2 in Houston on May 13.
Jensen Motorsport Formula BMW driver Frankie Muniz was also involved at Long Beach racing in the Toyota pro/celebrity race. Frankie won this event as a celebrity in 2005. Racing as a pro this year Frankie along with Todd Bodine and other pro drivers started 30 seconds behind the rest of the field. Frankie made short work of the 30 seconds and started working his way through the field passing nine cars before the race was stopped with just six out of ten scheduled laps completed. Frankie Finished 11th out of 21 cars.
